Bacon Up Grilled Cheese by Monica

There are LOTS of ways to make a good grilled cheese sandwich. But, for the Best Grilled Cheese sandwich EVER – add some Bacon Up to your skillet and make it a Bacon Up Grilled Cheese sandwich! The extra flavor and crispiness will take it to the next level and you’ll have a new favorite! Of course, you may assemble your sandwich any way you like – with your favorite bread and cheese combination, the spread of your choice, even add meat, if you want – but, here’s how I like to make mine
Equipment
- Skillet - I prefer cast iron
Ingredients
- 2 slices Sourdough bread
- 1 Tablespoon Butter
- 1-2 oz White Cheddar cheese
- 1-2 oz Havarti cheese
- 1-2 oz Colby Jack cheese
- 1-2 Tablespoons Bacon Up Bacon Grease
Instructions
- In skillet, add Bacon Up and begin melting over medium-low heat, while assembling the sandwich
- Assemble sandwich with 1-2 slices each of White Cheddar, Havarti, and Colby Jack cheeses, placed to cover bread evenly
- Spread butter on both outside slices of bread
- Grill in the hot Bacon Up for 2-3 minutes on the first side, until golden brown, then flip
- Grill 1-2 minutes on the second side, until golden brown and cheese has melted
- Cut in half to serve traditionally – or cut into slices, then cubes and skewer with a decorative toothpick to serve as an appetizer
